Who we Are

About Aurora

• Aurora was established in 2007 and is a mental health and substance abuse agency who  provides counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults.
• Our diverse staff have 10+ years of service in the community developing new programs, specialized training in various disciplines and the ability to fill the voids needed
to assist our clients.
• Client centered and quality service. We strive to provide our clients with the best treatment with highly specialized staff.


What services we provide?

• Mental health and substance abuse counseling.

• Assessment, treatment planning for individuals, couples, family and group therapy.

• Trauma, depression, lack of motivation, and increased stress (personal/work).
• Work stress or any issue that requires immediate attention.
• We provide quality service to restore the fragile parts of our client’s lives from divorce, trauma, domestic violence and /or substance abuse.
• All ages welcome.

• Services provided in office, home, school  and through Tele-therapy services.
• Psychological Testing and Evaluation  - In office only

Our Staff:

Tammy L. Odom, CEO, BA, Psychology, MBA Generalist

  •  15+ years in the mental health and substance abuse experiences. 6+ years as a homeless case manager in the Oklahoma   City area. 
  • 4+ years of experience as original founding COO of Aurora Counseling Services from 2007-2011.
  • 7+ years’ experience as CEO, and looking forward to seeing Aurora further develop and be a sense of hope for the community. 
  • Previous accomplishments and accolades are: established and maintained policies and procedures for Aurora, developed an organizational structure, and completed the CARF surveyor training in 2011.

Tafadzwa Munjanja - CFO – BA, Accounting, MSA

  • 10+ years working at Aurora and developing our accounting system and online data set up and created a more streamlined approach. 
  • Handling all financials for Aurora including producing P&L, Balance Sheet, Income Statement and other general ledger data.   
  •  2+ years’ experience as Auditor. 
  • Prepares profit and loss statements and monthly closings and cost accounting reports. 
  • Compile analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions. 
  • Financial planning and monitoring cash flow.


Stella Angelidis - Clinical Director – BA Psychology, M.A., M Ed, LPC 

  • 12 + years of Clinical Director Experience and over 20  years of clinical experience. 
  • Assisted with development of a new Co-Occurring Day Treatment Program. 
  • Responsible for the group therapy topics, execution and scheduling. 
  •  Manage 30 + employee department, including billing procedures and servicing over 60 clients. 
  • Developed new policy and procedures for the department in order to comply with COA standards. (Council on Accreditation).  COA – Human service organization to improve service delivery. 
  • Extensive review experience of all intake assessments, therapy notes, and treatment plans for each client in the program. 
  • ​Approved Clinical Supervisor for 6 years.  
  • ​10+ years experience running workshops and training for Therapists and Case Managers. 


Rebecca Cole, Therapist PhD, LPC 

  • 20+ years of experience in counseling individuals, marriage counseling, families, and groups. 
  • Experience includes working with children, adolescents, and  adults.   
  • Works with clients needing help with depression, anxiety, parenting, anger, defiance, self- esteem, grief, and other mental health issues.    
  •  Sessions are conducted in person and via tele-therapy. 
  •  Specializes in all Psychological Testing and Evaluation needs. 

 

Kim Peterson,  Therapist, MA, MFT, LADC with Mental Health Emphasis

  • 13+ years  of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.  
  • ​Held  various therapy positions in behavioral health services that include  all levels of care  and age ranges from children through geriatrics.  
  • Current focus is on trauma  which I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.   
  • ​Trained in the following substance abuse services: ASAM-PPC-2R Trainer, ASI Trainer, T- ASI.  
  • ​Continues to strive to give back to the community through behavioral health services such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and  Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP).  


Elizabeth Hooks, LADC with Mental Health Emphasis

  • Has been in the Social Services field for 20 years in various positions. Elizabeth graduated with her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Langston University and received her Master's degree from University of Phoenix in Organizational  Management. 
  • Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor with Mental Health Designations as well as  a licensure. supervisor. 


Trina L. Johnson, MA, LMFT 

  • 6 years of experience in counseling children, teens, couples, and families.  Trina is very passionate about counseling adults and couples (Married and Unmarried).  
  • Has experience with marriage/family, conflict resolution, anxiety, depression, improving coping skills, social skills, anger management, and parenting skills.  
  • Strives to help clients reach their goals and to equip clients with the tools needed to confidently be on their own.  
  • Most recent accomplishments: competed a 2 day Empowered to Connect Training and completed 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

Sandra Oliver, LCSW

  • 15+ years of experience working in mental health and substance abuse treatment.
  • Provided mental health treatment to a variety of clients using reality therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, substance abuse, sexual abuse, family , marital, and individual therapies.
  • Directed family centered, strength-based, culturally competent and individualized intakes and assessments for adults, couples and families.
  • Trained in substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and the effects of employment and housing issues on mental health. Stays current on the emotional needs of a person in order to provide great therapeutic services.

Audrey Kelly, LMFT

  • 15 + years clinical experience serving a diverse population of adults and seniors. 
  • Provide assessment for individuals and couples.
  • Specializes in depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, aging issues, and loss of independence.
  • Development of treatment plans, and goals for individuals and couples.
  • Session are conducted via Tele-Therapy.
  • Experienced in cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy
